Product Review for: Pig Spit Cleaner

 For the longest time I had been looking for a product that would clean the black cases on my bike. I have to say I think I found a winner in the Pig Spit Cleaner. While I had tried various other cleaners, and tricks I had found on various forums nothing really ever worked as well as I had hoped. The Arizona sun, heat, and dust can do some major damage if not taken care of. In my case my cases had become so "stained" from the dust and dirt, that I just could not get it back to that nice flat clean black that it had when I bought it.

With 40,000 miles on the clock in just under two years, it was time to find something, anything that would help restore the simple beauty of my bike. I happened to meet a guy in my neighborhood who rides, we started talking... you know how it goes. I asked him how he kept his cases looking so good, yep you guessed it Pig Spit. So I drove my happy ass down to the local bike shop, and picked up a can.

I washed the bike, got all the bugs, dust, and road grime off the bike and proceeded to try Pig Spit on the cases. I almost fell over in amazement, at how much of a difference there was! After a few more light applications my cases looked brand new! The directions say its safe on almost everything except tires, and controls. I tried it on everything from the cases, jugs, chrome, underside of the floorboards (rubber), and even the paint.

I was super impressed with how well this product worked, the only thing it fell short on for me was the paint. It required some buffing, and did make the paint "shiny" but I think I will stick to a good cleaner, and wax job on the paint. As for the chrome, plastic, and rubber pieces it worked like a charm. Anyone who rides daily in Arizona knows the sun will fade almost everything, and eventually destroy rubber, and plastic used on any vehicle. When I used it on the "dash" of my Ultra Classic, it actually brought back the "black" and got rid of the faded "grey" from the sun damage.

All in all I would recommend this product after every time you wash to help protect your bike from the effects of the sun.
